I've launched a newsletter!
The Chasing Skulls blog is starting to gather dust. There are plenty of human remains-related topics I want to explore here, but unfortunately, I don't have much time at the moment and have to prioritise work that generates income.
Rather than going months and months without posting anything, I've pivoted to a weekly newsletter format. The newsletter provides news and commentary on human remains sales in a (hopefully) digestible email.
Chasing Skulls: The Newsletter is more of a news aggregator than anything else. However, it also includes some specialist commentary from inside the collectors' market and updates on auction houses selling human remains.
My newsletter is for anyone interested in the sale of human remains, but it will likely be most useful to academics and journalists.
What's in the newsletter?
The newsletter is split into the following three sections.
Section 1: Human remains in the news
A roundup of news stories covering the sale of human remains worldwide. For example, ongoing US media coverage of the Harvard morgue body parts selling scandal. I'll also include any relevant new podcasts, documentaries and books in this section of the newsletter.
Section 2: What I'm seeing
I investigate the sale, display and treatment of human remains, both in the UK and abroad. In this section of the newsletter, I'll tell you about emerging trends and anything else I see that's particularly noteworthy.
Section 3: Auction watch
Last year, a UK auction house pulled various human skulls following a backlash from affected communities. The controversy received worldwide media attention but human remains often go to auction. In this section of the newsletter, I'll flag upcoming auctions featuring lots of human remains.
Click here to sign up (it's free). You'll receive the newsletter every week.
This week's newsletter includes more fallout from the Harvard/Arkansas body parts selling scandal, human skull subscriptions and examples of auction houses selling human remains.
